Uses

I've always enjoyed seeing what tools other people use to get their work done. So here is a list of equipments, programs and services that I use on a daily basis for those that may be interested.

Hardware

• My primary computer is a Dell Inspiron 15, configured with an i5-6200U, Radeon R5 M335, 8 GB RAM and 240 GB SATA SSD, running Fedora with the Gnome desktop.

• My phone is a Poco X3 Pro with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage running ArrowOS.

Software

Whenever possible, and practical, I prefer using free software to proprietary alternatives. Over time, my choice in software has shifted from a philosophy of idealist minimalism to one of pragmatism.

Development Tools

I work primarily with Python and SQL but play around with Rust and Scala at times.

• Konsole with tmux for multiplexing and Starship for the prompt.
• IBM Plex typeface across all my editors and IDEs.
• Neovim as my primary text editor.
• DataGrip for interacting with databases.
• Jupyter Lab for working with Notebooks.
• Docker for containerization.
• Ansible for bootstrapping my development environment setup.

General Software

• Firefox as my web browser.
• Thunderbird and K-9 Mail (android) for email.
• Obsidian for taking and organizing notes.
• LibreOffice Calc for tracking and organizing my life.
• Signal and Telegram for communication.
• Bitwarden for password management.
• Aegis (android) for 2FA.
• NewPipe (android) for watching Youtube videos.
